It is now usually possible to stream events quite simply. If you have a Youtube, or even Facebook account it is possible to stream your event worldwide, through your own account. For example, a choir will usually have their own Facebook page, and maybe even a website nowadays.
We can put cameras and microphones in your venue and people who cannot make it, can watch at home. Bearing in mind not everywhere has the internet and/or 5G phone coverage, it's not guaranteed, but what we stream is recorded so there is always a video just in case.
In most cases, we do not know how good service is, until we arrive, but so far, the results in Norfolk and Suffolk are encouraging. We are slowly building up a list of locations where streaming works really well.
With video, as opposed to an audio recording, it does require more people so will be more expensive, although we now have the ability to cut the shots, mix the audio and operate the camera with a minimum of two people, and three cameras - so costs can be kept down. It is easy to increase the number of cameras just remember the crew numbers have to go up. For new clients we can try to keep initial budgets low so you can see the value of streaming. It is also a great way to simply get new material out to regular users - a recent streamed event was a poetry reading, and it was very interesting to see the viewer count steadily increase as the word got out.
We are looking at expanding the locations we can stream from, so if you know of an event somewhere we have not yet tried, we might be able to do a very special rate, for us to get experience of different venues, prove they work and then other events could follow.
For audio events, clearly the acoustics are the important thing, but with streaming we have audio and video, so the look is also very important.
Technically, the ideal venue would have good reliable internet access, nice acoustics and bright lighting. This is very important for good pictures - Dim, dark lighting always gives dim dark pictures. Outside events can be great in nice weather, but remember the time when the sun starts to set. It is possible to start a concert in sun and finish in the dark!
Please get in touch for a chat if you think you might be able to offer us a totally new venue we can experiment with.
